Women Your Beauty doesn't last! With time it fades!

Breast Implant or cosmetic surgery or tummy tuck or makeup’s or Coloring Grey Hair is wrong because we use our body to attract in a wrongway. The people who does are saying indirectly that God did not do enough for them to look beautiful. This is the Satan’s deception in our society. “Beauty is not found in perfect measurements. You do not get it in a gym or beauty salon. It is not given by plastic surgery. Beauty is not the form and contour of the face. Beauty is not to be found hanging on the racks at Kohls, JC Penneys, or Marshals. It is not found in all the unrelenting pressure of the world to be skinnier and skinnier. It is found in God's school of cosmetology. It is something that God gives to you. It is something that never fades. It never gets wrinkles. It is the beauty of Jesus Christ within. It is the hidden man or woman of the heart, or a meek and quiet spirit.”

There are lots of women these days who wants to impress others become supermodel having a perfect shape, many of them will go to weight loss programs to make their shape beautiful. These women forget to shape spiritually by reading Bible, by attending church and associating with godly people, bringing up their family , by doing good things , by being a Godly examples and to lead others to Christ Jesus. They do anything to make their bodies beautiful and forget that their beautiful bodies don’t take them to heaven. Instead of spending lots of time for beauty and appearance, if they would have spent on Gods word it would have taken them to the gates of heaven atleast. Our Physical beauty will not be permanent as we get older and older, it fades. As we get older our appearance starts to change, our outer beauty begins to age as our inner beauty should become more beautiful. God sees our inner beauty, our heart and spirit. The devil, the head fashion designer, is undressing everyone who seeks the fashion of this world. We must watch out for anything that draws us away from God, including the too-often extreme emphasis the world places on appearances and we are not to think as the world does (Romans 12:2).

True feminine beauty is reflected in a godly woman she is fashionable in Gods eyes when she naturally accepts modesty. Through decent modesty we can be fashionable. The model woman described in Proverbs is a portrait of ideal womanhood. Woman who is called to be a mother and a wife, who takes the cross and purpose to live a godly life.

Godly Women who INSPIRE US in Biblical times are:

1. Mary- the mother of Jesus, for her availability to do whatever God wanted and a role model of the virtuous woman

2. Abigail – a woman of wisdom. She lived her life in a way gained much respect.

3. Dorcas - She lived a life of giving

4. Hannah was a woman who knew how to pray.

5. Lois and Eunice – the mother and grandmother of Timothy who laid a great foundation for a great life

6. Elizabeth – a supporter of those doing the will of God

7. Esther - courageous

8. Mary of Bethany – a role model of living by priorities

9. Sarah – a woman who believed God for something that was impossible

10. Ruth – a woman of virtue

All these Godly women dressed modestly which was pleasing and glorifying to God. As we become more like Him through faithfully following Him, our inner beauty starts to blossom and shine brighter. Esther or Abigail etc each of these women is described as beautiful but it is the beauty of their humility before God, their faithfulness to Him and their courage that make them remarkable.

Our delight should be natural beauty which God created. No matter how good our intentions might be, and no matter how much we might love the Lord, He IS concerned about our appearance, and about the kind of impression we make on those who comes in contact with. Scripture says that God is the only one who can see into people's hearts (1 Kings 8:39), and because of that, the believer's outward appearance, actions, and words must be consistently Christ like, if we're to make a real difference for Him in this world.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7:31, “the fashion of this world passeth away.” Although clothes are not a perfect measure, they can speak a lot about one’s heart condition. The fashion industry is an industry that seems to hate morals.

As we see in this verse beauty doesn't last! With time it fades. Even the most perfect looking model will one day have to look in the mirror and realize that she doesn't meet the physical standard of beauty anymore. When she is much older with gray hair and wrinkles what will she be left with? Outer beauty will never last and is not worth the struggle. But there is another kind of beauty that will last forever. It is a beauty that comes from having a fear and reverence for God. That doesn't mean that you are trembling and are scared of God, but that you have an awesome respect for who He is and are willing to do whatever it is that He wants. You are a humble servant before God, a vessel willing to be filled, willing to display the light of Christ. This is the kind of beauty that will be praised. This is the kind of beauty that will shine outward and will draw people to want to know Christ in you.

So, where does this inner beauty that God wants us to have come from? Well, first you must let go of the worldly view of beauty that you may already have.

Romans 12:2 says, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Today, this Word of God means this: Let your adorning, let your attractiveness, not be centered in the outward adornment of your figure, of perfect white teeth, of spiking and dying your hair bizarre colors (green and purple), colors God never made for human hair. Let not your adorning be silicone implants, Barbie doll figure, tight skin, no lines on your face. Do not give undue attention to the external. But let your adornment be the hidden man of the heart. That is where beauty is to be found.

If you use cosmetics or hair color or dying hair , you can do it temporarily to hide your age, permanently one cant hide what God has created.Eventhough I am 33 yr old women I have lots of white hair, I don’t color my hair because I love how God created me. I am not afraid or shamed of my aging or my white hair. I do not want to hide my real age either by makeups, and other cosmetics. We need to glorify God by honoring what He created, instead of trying to conceal it. I don’t believe false perceptions of beauty which the fashion world or Friends describes. True Beauty is not defined by anything in this world, but found in something that is beyond this world. God's Word is reminding every woman that outward beauty is temporal, but inner beauty from godly character and spirit is imperishable.

We need to Start renewing our mind to God's view of beauty that is defined through His Word. In Galatians 5:22-23, it says, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."

When our external beauty fades away with old age, these are the inner qualities that we will be left with, ones that will last a lifetime. This is true beauty

We compare ourselves to what is considered a beautiful woman, always stressing about our physical appearance. True beauty lies in our spirit, the part of us that God sees and feeds. The sooner we take a stand and accept who we are, and are happy with how God created us, the sooner we will see past what others think and truly understand what a beautiful woman is.

First, the Bible does not deny the value of a good appearance and a concern for health. Second, the Bible places the emphasis on inner beauty over physical beauty.

Modesty describes a demeanor that expresses itself in self-respect, discretion, and the avoidance of extremes; based on the fact that we are children of God and representatives of our Lord.

The Bible says, "Don't depend on things like fancy hairdos or gold jewelry or expensive clothes to make you look beautiful. Be beautiful in your heart by being gentle and quiet. This kind of beauty will last, and God considers it very special" (1 Peter 3:3-4;)

The world focuses on what people look like on the outside. God focuses on what people look like on the inside. Do you put more time and effort into being pretty on the outside or the inside?

The media has set this standard of beauty by using magazines and television ads to persuade women in what to wear and how to look to fit this model of what they believe is true beauty. This standard is one that women find hard to attain, because in reality the image that is shown to them is one that is false.

I have seen many women fall into the trap of accepting our culture's standard of beauty, so that they can fit into a world where they were called to stand out. It is often done in the effort to attract a man or to draw people to them based upon how they look. Some Christian women will even go as far as to disregard a modest way of dressing for one that is more enticing to the eye. Then when their beauty fails to attract they decide to change something, hair, clothes, face, whatever they can change to bring attention upon themselves while never having a true standard for beauty. Therefore neglecting what God says in His word is most important for beauty.

Makeup is associated with seduction in Jeremiah 4:30, where Israel is described as a woman to whom the Lord asks: "Why dress yourself in scarlet and put on jewels of gold? Why shade your eyes with paint? You adorn yourself in vain. Your lovers despise you." Enhanced beauty through makeup would not deliver her from her enemies. The same ideas are expressed in Ezekiel 23:40.

Peter's point is that Christian women should give more attention to developing a beautiful spirit than a beautiful body. The wise Christian woman, while not neglecting her outward appearance, will pay more attention to making her inner person beautiful. God's grace, in other words, gives people an inner beauty. This inner beauty has its own results: it often attracts those who are opposed to the gospel

The best beauty treatment for a woman is a few hours in the presence of God.” Today, beauty product marketing represents an almost $17 billion-per-year business in the U.S., with an annual expenditure per person of about $100.Another way He wants to free us from an unhelpful focus on our outward appearance is to grow our understanding of true and lasting beauty, and to focus on cultivating this. Real and enduring beauty according to God has everything to do with who we are.

Wearing makeup is all about looking better, and therefore feeling better about ourselves. If, by wearing makeup, we please ourselves with our appearance, we are engaging in vanity, and in feelings of pride, which the Bible warns against.

Here is what the scriptures say:

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful, I know that full well.Psalm 139:14

As women we are created in his image to reflect his beauty. It is a beauty that comes not from the outside, but from within. You are the bride of Christ, he desires YOU, your inner beauty and for you to love him every day of your life.

1 Peter 3:3-4 "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.

Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."

Proverbs 31:30:"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

Again there are many women and men want to hide their grey hair by dying or colouring, this is what the Bible says”

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life. Proverbs 16:31

The Bible warns us not to be vain or conceited (Philippians 2:3-4) and not to draw attention to ourselves by the way we look (1 Timothy 2:9).

How should we dressup for Church?

"It is plain that God wants most of our flesh covered..The Bible informs us that Adam and Eve had on no covering, and after they sinned, they were ashamed. I don’t think they were ashamed together, but they were afraid that God would see them, for they hid together from God. We are told to dress modestly (I Timothy 2:9).One of the most obvious ways we can obey that command is to look differently from the world.

The serious Christian will not follow the fashions of the sinful world. God has said, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (II Corinthians 6:17).

The Bible clearly states that we are to show reverence to God and to the things that represent His person and presence. Since the church is the house of God Our dressing be modest in the sanctuary and should always be respectful and reverent towards God

Jonah 3:5 Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them.

2 Kings 1:1 And when King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth and entered the house of the LORD.

Rev 11:3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

Jeremiah 6:26 O daughter of my people, put on sackcloth and roll in ashes; Mourn as for an only son, A lamentation most bitter. For suddenly the destroyer Will come upon us.

Daniel 9:3 So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.

Luke 10:13 Woe to you , Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had been performed in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

The previous verses describe how people in the past dressed to please the Lord. They dressed in sackcloth to humble themselves before the Lord. Sackcloth is dark goat hair used in making sacks, and worn in times of mourning.

I Peter 3:3-4 says "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit

1 Thes 4:1-5 ‘Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God.’

The following are Bible verses have to do with those who dress up to impress other people.

Mark 12:38 In His teaching He was saying:"Beware of the scribes who like to walk around in long robes, and like respectful greetings in the market places,

Matt 23:5 But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.

“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30)

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” (I Timothy 2:9-10)

“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” (Titus 2:12)

Those whose hearts are inclined toward God will make every effort to dress modestly, decently, and appropriately. Those whose hearts are included toward self will dress in a manner designed to draw attention to themselves with little or no regard for the consequences to themselves or others.

Further, by dressing in an immodest fashion, displaying her body for men to lust after, she causes her brothers in Christ to sin, something condemned by God (Matthew 5:27-29). If a woman’s heart is inclined toward godliness, she will wear clothing that is neither provocative nor revealing in public.

Now let us look at God’s attitude towards nakedness as expressed in the Bible.

Exodus 32:25And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies

The Lord said that nakedness is shameful.

Exodus 20:26Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

If nakedness was not an area of great concern to the Lord, then He would not have given the issue so much attention. He made sure to cover all avenues to ensure that the nakedness of His people would not be exposed.

Isaiah 20:4So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

Again the word shame is used…

Genesis 9:22-25, tells the story of Noah and his sons, and how he cursed Canaan because he saw him naked.

Leviticus 18:7-20

Speaks about uncovering the nakedness of someone that is not your wife or husband, God said to do so is wickedness.

God’s feelings on the subject of nakedness in the Bible are consistent. Nakedness is an abomination.

Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

In Proverbs 7:10 and it reads - "And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart."

"Mini-clothes are symbolic of those girls who want to seduce a man..." Conversely, formfitting dresses, gauchos and pants, and various forms of nakedness as "swim suits," shorts, sun suits, bare chests, slit skirts, mini skirts, unbuttoned shirts and blouses, etc., send a message about wrong inner character. Why would anyone professing Christ appear in a state of dress that Scripture associates with a fallen nature, drunkenness, demon possession, debauchery, degradation, idolatry, loose morals, being a prisoner, being carnal and shameful?" The devil, the fashion designer of this world and he is trying to strip us of every thread of dignity and most of us have allowed him to do just that. We should therefore promote covering, for it was pleasing to God and not little coverings that would possibly lead to support nudity that is in favor for the devil. The shorter the coverings the nearer it promotes the fashion of the devil.

John 21:7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

When Jesus met Peter he was naked, but after a relationship was established with Christ, he was clothed from head to foot with the rode of Christ’s righteousness.

Luke 8:27-3527 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

28 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

When the man who was possessed with devils met Jesus, he was naked. But after an encounter with Jesus, the Bible said that the man was clothed and in his right mind. Amen.

We love to wear the name Christian, we want to be called by his name, but that is it. Many are saying by rebelling against the spoken word, "You don't tell me what to do Lord. I will wear what I want, I will wear what I feel comfortable in." The women of this world, both Christians and non-Christians a like are allowing the perverted corrupted minds of this age to undress them. Our priority as a Christian is the biblical not the cultural. "...blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world" (Ph 2:15)

Godly men and women should conduct themselves in purity and humility—this includes how they dress. That is what God demands.

Women have a moral obligation to avoid enticing men with immodest apparel

Women have grave responsibilities. Through their roles as wives and mothers, women help bring about the perfection of the human race in Christ. To that end, one can even say that women dictate the moral conscience of society.

When a woman deliberately dresses immodestly (that is, dressing ?to attract? instead of dressing ?attractively?), she is committing sin and separating herself from God. The sin may be venial or mortal, depending on the degree of her immodesty, as well as other circumstances.

Some people say that God doesn't care what you look like on the outside. God just looks on the heart." That is true. God does look on the heart, but man cannot see the heart. Man can only see the outer. Not only that, the outer appearance is usually a pretty good indicator of what is in a person's heart. Although it is possible to look right on the outside and be wrong on the inside, it is well nigh impossible to look right on the outside and be right on the inside. What is on the outside comes from the inside. That is why Jesus said, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34). Granted, a man could say the right things, and have a wrong heart, but a man who had a right heart would never say the wrong things. So the outer appearance is the only indicator that man has that someone is right with God, right in their heart. So God does care how we look. Not only does God care how we look, there are rules in the Bible for both men and women that should govern our appearance. Now, whenever you start to talking about these rules, the women are always the first ones to complain, because there are more rules for the women than there are for the men.

Men are stimulated by sight. This is why Jesus told the men of His day, "whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). Men are stimulated by sight. Men are always attracted to a lady, physically, before they are connected to her emotionally. In fact, they don't even want to pursue the possibility of an emotional relationship, if the physical attraction isn't there. Therefore, God has given certain commands to women regarding their appearance, so they will not stimulate men. And God has given different commands to men, such as in First Corinthians 7:1, which says, "It is good for a man not to touch a woman. And then verse two, Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband." So while a woman is commanded to dress a certain way so the man is not stimulated, the man is commanded to act a certain way, to behave a certain way, so the woman is not stimulated. That is why the commands are different. That is why the man is commanded, "Defraud ye not." That is why they are commanded not to touch. The additional rules for appearance are for the lady's own protection. They are designed to protect her from the lusts of man.women are commanded to dress with shamefacedness.

We read that when Adam and Eve realized they had sinned they sewed fig leaves together. What did they do? They covered their genitals. What did God do? He said, "No, that is not good enough. You need to cover more than your sexual area. You need to cover your nakedness." So what did He do? He slew an animal and clothed them in skins, so their nakedness would be covered.

On the other hand, if a woman dresses like a man (pants, short hair, etc.), a man will treat her like ?one of the guys.? If a woman dresses immodestly (short skirt, tight jeans, cut-off shirts), a man will often view her as a sexual object and no more. Let?s look at some of the Scriptures which address this very important issue of modesty in dress.

Gen. 3:7 ? after Adam and Eve rebelled against God, their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. Sin created a disorder in their wills. They were now under the influence of their disordered passions (here, sexual passions), and were ashamed. From this point forward, immodest dress aroused the passions which were now governed by a fallen human nature.

Gen. 3:21 ? notice that God is not satisfied with the garments that Adam and Eve made for each other after the original sin. The fig leaves that Adam and Eve made would have only covered them partially. They would have been immodestly dressed. Thus, God made new garments for them out of animal skins and clothed them entirely, or modestly. Because the human condition was now afflicted with sin and concupiscence, God clearly reveals that He desires us to dress modestly, to avoid tempting ourselves and others. (This is also where God most likely taught Adam how to sacrifice animals to Him.)

Lev. 28:42 ? ?You shall make for them linen breeches to cover their naked flesh; from the loins to the thighs they shall reach.? God gives another instruction about modest dress for His holy people. God wants the flesh to be covered so that temptations will be mitigated and sin avoided.

1 Tim. 2:9-10 ? women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion. The Holy Ghost, through St. Paul, emphasizes modesty in dress. Note that ?modesty? (from the Greek kosmios) means ?orderly, well-arranged, decent? (see Eccl. 12:9). Kosmios is from kosmos which means ?order, regular disposition, ornament, adorning.? (See 1 Peter 3:3; when referring to ?order,? God is referring to the order that He had in place before the original sin.)

1 Peter 3:2-4 ? Peter commands women to reverent and chaste behavior, which includes modest dress. Peter warns against the outward adorning with braiding of hair, decoration of gold, and wearing of robes, but let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God?s sight is very precious. This same Peter practiced modesty before the Lord, for he ?put on his clothes? before he jumped into the dirty sea to meet Jesus (see John 21:7).

Deut. 22:5 ? ?A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman?s garment; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.? While we are no longer under the legal canons of the Old Covenant, the New Covenant incorporates their holy principles. To that end, women should think twice about wearing pants, trousers and other articles of clothing that ?pertains to a man.? Such clothing obscures her feminine identity and plays to a wicked society that wants women to usurp the authority of men.

Lev. 18:17 ? ?You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son?s daughter or her daughter?s daughter to uncover her nakedness.? When women dress immodestly (showing their legs, stomachs, and even more), they are uncovering their nakedness to a fallen world and leading people into serious sin. To the extent women intend to sexually excite others by their immodest dress, they are guilty of mortal sin.

Prov. 11:22 ? ?Like a gold ring in a swine?s snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.? That is, a woman?s true beauty is her inner beauty, the sacred and mysterious creature that God has made. When she dresses without discretion, she mars her true beauty, and becomes a swine.

Rom. 12:1-2 ? Paul commands us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is our spiritual worship. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Ghost which we offer to God through prayer, fasting and other self-mortifications, which include dressing modestly and living chastely.

Gal. 5:16,23 ? Paul says ?walk by the Spirit and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would. But the fruit of the Spirit is?chastity.? Those who wish to invoke the desires of the flesh by their immodest dress are opposed to the Holy Spirit. They commit grave sin against God and their neighbor.

1 John 2:16 ? ?Live as free men, yet without using your freedom as a pretext for evil, but live as servants of God.? Woman cannot use their beautiful bodies as a pretext for evil (that is, to sexually tempt men) without committing serious sin. Such women are not ?servants of God,? but ?servants of Satan.?

Rom. 6:13 ? ?Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.? Again, Paul teaches that the body can be used for good or evil. Women must cover themselves so that their bodies are not instruments of wickedness, leading weak men into sin.

1 Cor. 11:14-15 ? ?Does not nature itself teach you that for a man to wear long hair is degrading to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is her pride? For her hair is given to her for a covering.? Throughout Scripture, that which is sacred is ?veiled.? Thus, as sacred vessels of life, women are to be veiled in modest dress, as well as when praying or prophesying (see 1 Cor. 11:4-16).

1 Cor. 6:9-10 ? Paul says that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. These include those practice immorality, which includes immodest dress. Immodesty in dress shocks the honest man and offends Almighty God. See also Eph. 5:5

1 Cor. 6:19-20 ? ?Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.? See also 1 Cor. 3:16-17. Women who dress like harlots are glorifying the devil, not God, in their bodies. Paul says that we must do all for the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31).

Matt. 5:28 ? Jesus says ?everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.? But this is a two-way street. If women dress modestly, this temptation is mitigated. If not, this temptation is enhanced. Both the woman who dresses to attract lust, and the man who gives into the lust, are culpable before God.

Matt. 5:29 ? Jesus follows His teaching on committing adultery in the heart by saying ?If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.? Again, Jesus clearly teaches that we can sin mortally with our eyes, and this often happens when men lust after immodestly-dressed women. Men are responsible for having ?custody of the eyes,? but women are responsible for helping them maintain that custody.

Job 31:1 ? ?I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I look upon a virgin?? Men must resolve to not look lustfully upon women, and women must not dress in a way that will arouse these temptations in men.

Titus 2:12 ? Paul admonishes us to train ourselves to renounce worldly passions and to live soberly. Women can help men to renounce their passions by dressing modestly. Women can change the world by how they dress and conduct themselves.

1 Peter 2:11 ? Peter says ?Beloved, I beseech you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against your soul.? When a woman dresses immodestly, she is waging war on the souls of men. If the man ultimately loses the battle, he perishes in hell for all eternity. The man has the responsibility to surrender his disordered passions to Christ, but the woman has the responsibility to not invoke these passions with immodest dress.

2 Sam. 11:2-5 ? This is the story about David?s adultery with Bathsheba. When David saw Bathsheba bathing, he gave in to his passions and had illicit relations with her. This demonstrates how powerful a woman?s presence can be to a man. A woman must guard against revealing herself so as to sexually excite a man, lest they both fall into sin.

Rom. 14:13,21; 1 John 2:10 ? Paul and John say to never put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another. When women dress like prostitutes, they are causing weak and fallen men to stumble. What message are they communicating to the world? That they are available for immoral, sexual activity. Such a stumbling block can hinder both a woman?s and a man?s salvation. As many have commented, prostitutes of 50 years ago dressed more modestly than many women dress today.

Isaiah 3:16-17? ?Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing as they go, tinkling with their feet, the Lord will smite with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.? God reveals that exposing a woman?s private parts to the world is a punishment unto her. By smiting with a scab their heads, God also reveals that uncovering a woman?s head (not just her private parts) is also a punishment (see vv. 23-24 where the Lord will take away the women?s ?veil? and make her ?bald?; this emphasizes the necessity of a women to cover her head in humility before the Lord; see also Isaiah 47:2).

Isaiah 47:2-3 ? ?put off your veil, strip off your robe, uncover your legs, pass through the rivers. Your nakedness shall be uncovered, and your shale shall be seen.? This is another Scripture which teaches that nakedness, which often is revealed through immodest dress, is a sign of shame. Yet women in today?s culture view their nakedness as a sign of pride and power. Women who dress this way ?have exchanged the truth of God for a lie? (Rom. 1:25).

Titus 2:15 ? ?To the pure all things are pure, but to the corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are corrupted.? Women cannot exonerate themselves from the sin they cause by dressing immodestly. Men, like women, are fallen creatures, and are often driven to view a woman?s body for immoral purposes (and women know this). When women dress immodestly before unbelievers, they increase the temptations and bring about spiritual ruin for the unbelievers and themselves.

Prov. 7:10,22-23 ? ?And lo, a woman meets him, dressed as a harlot, wily of heart. All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its entrails; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.? Such a woman is a danger to man, for they can lead his soul into hell. Just as men cannot lord over women their physical strength, women cannot use the sexual aspects of their physical bodies to dominate a man.

Prov. 5:3 ? ?For the lips of a loose woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path to Sheol.? This is another warning from God about how easily men can be seduced by loose and immoral women.

Matt. 14:3-12; Mark 6:17-29 ? this is another example of how an immodestly dressed and loose woman can manipulate man and lead him into serious sin. Herodias? daughter Salome performed a vulgar dance for Herod, and Herod was moved by her feminine charms. As we all know, this led to the decapitation of St. John the Baptist, whose head was served to Herodias and Salome on a platter.

Zeph. 1:8; Jer. 52:33; 2 Sam. 10:4-5; Isaiah 50:3 ? these are Scriptures where clothing reveals something about the person?s lifestyle. Clothing is a powerful means of communicating a message about the one wearing the attire. What is a woman saying when she dresses in skin-tight, low cut jeans, or mini-skirts and half-shirts? What about women who artificially inflate their lips and breasts with medical procedures? Or who pierce their navels, tongues and other sacred parts? This is the devil?s work, for it mocks God?s creation, which is the temple of the Spirit.

2 Sam. 3:31 ? David said ?Rend your clothes, and gird on sackcloth, and mourn before Abner.? Here is an example where clothing reveals sorrow. See also Ezekiel 26:16. What does immodest dress reveal?

Lev. 19:28 ? ?You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh on account of the dead or tattoo any marks upon you; I am the Lord.? While the Mosaic law has been abolished, its Godly principles, including its prohibition against tattoos, have been incorporated into the New Covenant. Since Christ has now made our bodies Temples of the Holy Ghost, God?s prohibition on tattooing the body is even more severe (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

1 Sam. 16:7 ? God tells Samuel, ?do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.? See also Mark 12:38-40. God reveals that we must not base are relationships with others on the external appearance. When women dress immodestly, they are inviting this disorder into their relationships with others.

Ezek. 23:40,42-43 ? ?For them you bathed yourself, painted your eyes, and decked yourself with ornaments? The sound of a carefree multitude was with her, and with men of the common sort drunkards were brought from the wilderness; and they put bracelets upon the hands of the women, and beautiful crowns upon their heads. Then I said, ?Do not men now commit adultery when they practice harlotry with her? For they have gone into her, as men go into a harlot.? Women who over-indulge in make-up and dress immodestly attract men who will desire only to use them sexually. See also 2 Kings 9:30.

Jer. 4:30 ? ?And you, O desolate one, what do you mean that you dress in scarlet, that you deck yourself with ornaments of gold, that you enlarge your eyes with paint? In vain you beautify yourself. Your lovers despise you; they seek your life.? God gives another warning to women who indulge excessively in attractive dress and make-up. Men seek these kinds of women so that they can use them. In so doing, they seek their lives, that is, their eternal souls.

Ex. 28:2 ? ?And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.? In this Scripture, God teaches us that clothing can be holy, and holy clothing beautifies the wearer and glorifies God. In fact, clothing can symbolize our holy union with God.

Psalm 44:10; Prov. 31:21, Jer 2:32, Dan 5:29, Ezek. 16:6, Rev. 18:12; 19:14 ? here are some more Scriptures that teach that clothing can be positive and holy. However, Jesus teaches us not to overemphasize the importance of clothing (Matt. 6:25). Thus, Paul says to ?put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires? (Rom. 13:14). As Christians, we must go beyond the material goods of this world, and seek the higher, spiritual goods of God, so that we can be with Jesus forever.

Isaiah 61:10 ? ?I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.?

Your clothing on the outside should represent godliness on the inside (see 1Tim. 2:9-10).

Your clothing should not be a stumbling block for believers or unbelievers.

Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
