Do not commit theft, robbery, stealing or burglary!

The ten countries with the largest population in world are first being China, the second country in the world with most population is India, and United States is the 3rd populated country in the world and Indonesia is the fourth populated country in the world.

According to crime statistics by the world, United States is the first country in the world for highest crime next to United Kingdom. In America, the crime clock continues to click: one murder every 22 minutes, one rape every 5 minutes, one robbery every 49 seconds, and one burglary every 10 seconds. And the cost of crime continues to mount: $78 billion for the criminal justice system, $64 billion for private protection, $202 billion in loss of life and work, $120 billion in crimes against business, $60 billion in stolen goods and fraud, $40 billion from drug abuse, and $110 billion from drunk driving. When you add up all the costs, crime costs Americans a stunning $675 billion each year. Approximately one in every 18 men in the United States is behind bars or being monitored. The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world at 754 persons in prison or jail per 100,000 U.S. residents (as of 2008). In the United States, burglary, robbery, Aggravated Assault rates are highest .Among the largest American cities, Memphis, Tennessee had the highest number of burglaries at 2,183, followed by Detroit, Michigan at 2,064, according to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports.

Stealing is an abomination which says in (Jeremiah 7:9-10). The thieves wait to Commit, under shelter of the night.( Obadiah 1:5, Job 24:14)

God has commanded several times that we must not steal .The commandment “You shall not steal” is in Exodus 20:15. It is repeated in Leviticus 19:11 and Deuteronomy 5:19 and is also commanded  by Jesus in Matthew 19:18, Mark 10:19 and Luke 18:20. In Jeremiah 7:9 and Zechariah 5:3 we are told of God’s displeasure with those who do steal. In Romans 13:9 Paul points out that if we love our neighbour we will not steal. In Ephesians 4:28 he says that those who have been guilty of stealing should repent and change their ways. Gods word say in Isaiah 61:8 "For I, the LORD, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing.

God says that Thieves shall never inherit the kingdom of God. “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: ….nor thieves…. Will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Conclusion: God gives warning in Ephesians 4:28 as “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”

How the thief on the cross was was saved?

The thief was saved while the Old Testament was still in effect. He is not an example of salvation under the gospel at all. But the thief was forgiven before Jesus died and therefore while the first covenant was in effect.

Jesus lived and died under the Mosaic Law. Jesus was in the fullness of time "born of a woman, born under the Law." (Gal. 4:4).Jesus clearly offered him salvation and Jesus has every authority and power to save him while on earth; Jesus had the authority to forgive sins. Adam, Noah, Moses, etc. Were never baptized and so as thief. They all lived before the death of Jesus. Jesus' teaching regarding the universal necessity of baptism for the salvation of the sinner was not given until Jesus rose from the grave and gave His Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:46-49). This thief lived and died before the commission: hence, the baptism commanded by Jesus had no applicability.

Another point we see that the thief was a honest and appeared to fear God, acknowledged his guilt accepted his deserved punishment, showed respect for Jesus, defended Jesus' innocence, and had some knowledge of Jesus' kingdom (Luke 23:40-42). God gave Him power to forgive sins as He was pleased. The Bible says, "But that ye may know that the son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins" (Matt. 9:6, 8).

But there was the baptism of John - Mk 1:4-5 because that was preparing people for the coming of Christ. And it was designed to be replaced by baptism into Christ and His death - cf. Ac 19:4-5

Col. 2:14 - Jesus removed the first ordinances nailing them to His cross. Until Jesus died, the Jews lived under the laws given at Mt. Sinai through Moses. When He died, those laws ceased to be in effect.

Eph. 2:13-16 - He abolished the old law through His blood shed on the cross (v13,16).

Heb. 10:9, 10; 9:16, 17 - Jesus removed the first testament and replaced it with His new covenant the gospel. It is under this New Testament that we are saved by Jesus' death. As with any will or testament, Jesus had to die to bring His testament into force. The old law was in effect until Jesus died, and then it was replaced by the New Covenant. [Cf. Gal. 3:13; Rom. 7:4]

Also we need to remember that Gods wrath will be on those you willfully disobedient to him.
